Two young gymnasts from Junxion Gymnastics in Fourways have made South Africa proud after delivering outstanding performances at the Region 5 Gymnastics Competition, held in Namibia in December 2025.

Kiara Sutherland and Aryanna Singh were part of South Africa’s Pre-Junior Team, which claimed first place overall at the prestigious regional event.

The competition also marked a memorable experience for the Junxion gymnasts, who proudly shared the journey with fellow South African competitor and Summit Gymnastics athlete, Elonay Pretorious.

South Africa defeated regional rivals Zimbabwe 3-2 in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group B match at the Marrakesh Stadium on Monday evening, securing a place in the last 16 of the continental tournament.

Bafana Bafana will now face the runners-up from Group F in a knockout match which is scheduled for Sunday the 4th of January, in Rabat.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed the New Year with hopes for better economic progress.

While delivering his end-of-year message
the President reflected on the progress of the past year while outlining his optimism for 2026.

The President emphasised that economic growth remains a national priority, noting that government will intensify its focus on attracting investment.

The President has wished all South Africans a peaceful and prosperous New Year, urging the nation to move forward with renewed determination.
