Army veteran’s life transformed after backyard cleared and funds raised
Story 3
A 63-year-old British Army veteran, Nick Joyce, received life-changing support after his overgrown backyard in Suffolk was cleared by Ben Saunders and his team from Flawless Cleaning Services.
Joyce had been unable to access the garden for years due to weeds up to 2–2.5 metres high.
The clean-up, which included repairs and vegetable beds, was shared on YouTube and led to a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than R258,000 to assist Joyce, who suffers from COPD, arthritis, and PTSD.
Saunders also donated a car, providing the veteran with mobility and independence.
Joyce said the assistance has given him renewed hope and the ability to seek employment.
