Curator of the Standard Bank Art Gallery, Dr Sammy Mduli, is thrilled to announce the return of 145 artworks from the Johannesburg Art Gallery's international touring exhibition.
The collection, which has been on an extensive decade-long tour, is now back in South Africa and on display at the Standard Bank Gallery.
The exhibition, titled "Homecoming," marks a significant collaboration between Standard Bank Gallery and JAG, showcasing some of the most prized artworks created in South Africa centuries ago, dating back to the 17th century.
Dr. Mduli highlights the importance of this exhibition, stating that it's a celebration of South Africa's cultural wealth and a testament to the country's rich artistic heritage:
