Gauteng's LGL Farming Co wins Lamb Champs Pretoria 2026

The Lamb Champs Pretoria has crowned Gerhard and Jani Lourens of LGL Farming Co in Gauteng as the winners of the 2026 competition.
The farming enterprise's Persian lamb took top honours among entries from 110 sheep farmers across South Africa.
More than 6,000 visitors attended the flagship event at the Harlequins Rugby Club in Pretoria, celebrating quality lamb, family farming, live entertainment and South Africa's rich agricultural heritage.
Independent judges assessed the competing lambs on appearance, aroma, texture, tenderness and the overall eating experience.
The event also marked the announcement of the inaugural Lamb Champs Invitational, which will take place in Pretoria on the 31st of October.
The international competition will see a team of ten South African farmers compete against ten Namibian farmers.
