The donation of the smart tablets seeks to improve school connectivity, digital literacy, and access to coding and robotics education in the basic education sector.
Gwarube has stressed that preparing children for a changing world through digital transformation is key to the future of basic education.

Durban will this month host the global aviation workforce summit.
This is to help address aviation's urgent need for millions of new skilled professionals to work in the sector, and to open the skies to young talent worldwide.
According to the International Civil Aviation Organisation's forecasts, by 2037 the sector will require more than 665,000 aircraft maintenance technicians, 554,000 pilots, 922,000 cabin crew members and 106,000 air traffic controllers.
South Africa, through its role in the Single African Air Transport Market initiative, is expected to contribute to job creation across the continent, with nearly 600,000 jobs forecast to be generated in Africa alone.

Zambia has signed an agreement with a Chinese company to build a $1.1-billion crude oil refinery, aiming to cut fuel imports and transform the country into a regional hub for refined petroleum products.
The facility, to be located in Ndola in the Copperbelt Province, will have a daily processing capacity of 60-thousand barrels and is set to meet Zambia’s entire domestic fuel demand upon completion.
The project, spearheaded by the Industrial Development Corporation of Zambia, is scheduled to break ground in Q3 2025, with commercial operations expected by 2026.
