The winners were acknowledged across various categories, including Excellence in Primary School Teaching, Secondary School Leadership, Inclusive Education and Teaching in Foundation Phase.

Nelson Mandela Metro records steady growth in tourism

The Nelson Mandela Metro says the tourism sector has shown steady growth in the current financial year, due to the city’s success in attracting both national and international conferences.

The Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Development, Tourism and Agriculture in the City, Bassie Kamana says one of the key highlights for the Metro this year, was hosting the G20 Working Group Meeting, since the beginning of the year.

The province generated an estimated R41 billion from foreign visitor spending, exceeding a benchmark of R29 billion.

NWU students to compete in prestigious 2025 World Dance Championships

The North-West University's Tebogo Baas and Matlhogonolo Bodibe, are set to represent South Africa at the 2025 World Dance Championships in the Netherlands this November.

The students secured their place in the Youth Championship Latin category, following consistent podium finishes and a strong showing in the qualifiers.

The pair say the selection is an opportunity to demonstrate the standard of South African dance beyond national borders.
