The IEB Class of 2025 achieved an average of 4.3 distinctions per learner, the highest in Redhill’s history.

The Western Cape province has once again produced South Africa’s top Matric learner, for the 5th consecutive year.
Abigail Kok from York High School in the province is the overall achiever for the class of 2025 and the top candidate in Physical Science.
The province recorded its highest ever matric pass rate of 88.2%, with strong performances in Mathematics and Physical Sciences.
Kok says it's all about maintaining balance and working hard throughout the year.

South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube mentors young creatives in Eswatini

Veteran South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube is using his decades of experience in theatre and film to mentor young creatives as one of the facilitators at the Summer Camp Sukuma in Eswatini, where faith and the performing arts intersect to shape the next generation of leaders.
Founded by Pastor Thethe Dlamini in 2005, the week-long camp brings together young people from Eswatini and neighbouring Southern African Development Community countries, offering them the opportunity to learn and develop skills under the guidance of renowned mentors.
KaNcube, acclaimed for his work on stage and screen as both an actor and director, has been mentoring participants at the camp since the 5th of January 2026.
