The second running of the Hollywoodbets Johannesburg 10 kilometre race will take place on Saturday, outside the DP Wanderers Cricket Stadium.
The country’s fastest athletes will compete for top honours and a R37 500 first prize.

Multiple Comrades and Two Oceans Marathon champion Gerda Steyn is set to make her anticipated debut in the race.

Lilian Ngoyi Street reopens

The Johannesburg Roads Agency has announced that L​ilian Ngoyi Street will officially reopen to traffic today, following the successful completion of Phase 1 of the Rehabilitation Project.

The newly reconstructed section, between Loveday and End streets, will operate as a one-way eastbound road.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department will closely monitor the road, adjust signal timings and enforce by-laws where necessary to ensure smooth traffic flow.

South Africa’s Mpho Lakaje honoured at SADC Media Awards

Renowned radio and Television executive producer, Mpho Lakaje, was named the South African winner in the Radio category at the recent SADC Media Awards in Madagascar.

The competition attracted 29 entries from across the SADC region, with South Africa submitting four entries across the award categories.

Government spokesperson Nomonde Mnukwa says Lakaje’s storytelling has amplified African voices and played a vital role in bridging cultural divides.
