South Africa’s defence and aviation industries came together to showcase their best innovation and technology in the defence industry, at the South African Airforce Museum Air show in Pretoria.

Deputy Chief of the South African Air Force Major General Lancelot Mathebula, says they are committed to developing aviation awareness in schools with the aim of boosting careers in the sector.

With a legacy dating back over 80 years, the South African Air Show remains the county's largest and most iconic event.

Young artists showcase their talent through the Emerging Artists Programme

Young artists were given the opportunity to showcase their talent, through the Emerging Artists Programme at the comic Con showcase in Cape Town.

The City of Cape Town’s Community, Arts and Culture Department’s Emerging Artists Programme, is a bridge into the art world for many under-resourced artists in the Mother City and helps creatives sharpen their skills, while earning an income and gaining exposure.

10 young artists from communities across Cape Town were selected to take part in a training programme which helped the artists prepare to showcase their creations at the event.

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition will host South Africa’s second G20 Trade and Investment Working Group meeting from today in Somerset West, in the Western Cape.
The meeting will bring together senior officials from member countries, as well as the European Union and African Union.

The gatherinb is a second of a series of meetings that will take place throughout the year, ahead of the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting in October later this year.
