Children invited to enter Cape Town’s annual writing competition

Children aged 9 to 13 are invited to enter the City of Cape Town’s annual writing competition, hosted by local libraries. This year’s theme challenges young writers to imagine discovering a mysterious, humming box in their school or library. Stories can be handwritten in English, Afrikaans, or isiXhosa, and may include illustrations. Entries open tomorrow and close August 8. Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services Francine Higham says Winners will be announced at the Open Book Festival on September 6.
