Njabulo Sosibo, a passionate runner from Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal, is participating in this year’s Comrades Marathon to raise funds for the Lungisani Indlela safe house expansion.

The safe house provides shelter and support to abandoned and abused children in Amaoti, helping them heal and rebuild their lives. Sosibo’s cause is especially meaningful in light of rising cases of abuse.

With over R23,000 raised toward his R30,000 goal, Njabulo’s efforts have gained significant support.

Donations can be made via the Sport for Lives crowdfunding campaign to continue helping children in need.

On Tuesday, Higher Education and Training Minister Nobuhle Nkabane launched the Digital Innovation Lab at Esayidi TVET College in Umzimkhulu, KwaZulu-Natal, highlighting the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide.
The lab, equipped with advanced technology like virtual reality and robotics, is designed to give students the skills needed for the modern workforce.
Nkabane emphasized that the lab is not just a resource for equity but a vital tool for the country’s future.
Students at the launch showcased their projects, demonstrating how the lab prepares them for careers in a technology-driven world.

Grade 3 learner Atlehang Malemane from Nova Pioneer North Riding is proudly representing South Africa at an international chess championship in Rhodes, Greece.
Atlehang earned her spot on the national team after an outstanding performance in the regional tournament.
Departing on April 11, she now competes with some of the world’s top young chess players. The school’s head, Prathna Ramchunder, praised Atlehang for her excellence, courage, and discipline, qualities the school strives to instill in all learners.
The Nova Pioneer community continues to support Atlehang, celebrating her achievement as a testament to the potential of South Africa’s youth.
