Cricket South Africa teams up with Suzuki

Cricket South Africa has teamed up with Suzuki Auto South Africa in a big new sponsorship deal.
Suzuki is now the official vehicle partner and One Day International partner for both the men’s and women’s Proteas teams.

This is the first major sponsor for the Proteas since 2020.

Cricket South Africa’s CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, says the partnership will help grow cricket and give more young people a chance to play.
As part of the deal, Suzuki is giving 30 vehicles to help with cricket development around the country, plus 12 more cars for CSA use.

Chery launches a new brand

Another Chinese car brand is on its way to South Africa. Chery has launched a new brand called Lepas, shown recently at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The first model, the L8 SUV, will be followed by smaller L6 and L4 SUVs.
These cars have a modern design that Chery calls “Leopard Aesthetics.”
Lepas aims to offer cars for families and luxury buyers.
The name Lepas comes from the words “Leap” and “Passion.” The vehicles will come in petrol, plug-in hybrid, and electric versions, but full details are still to come.

Chery already sells brands like Omoda, Jetour and others in South Africa.
The brand is also planning to bring a new bakkie brand called Himla.

Global superstar Beyoncé has kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles, with a high-energy show full of cowboy-themed fashion and powerful performances.
The tour began on Monday, April 28 at Sofi Stadium, where fans were treated to songs from her new album, including “II Most Wanted” and “Levii’s Jeans,” along with fan favourites like “Formation” and “Daddy Lessons.”
One of the standout moments came when Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy joined her on stage, confidently leading a dance routine to “Deja Vu.”
The 13-year-old received loud cheers from the crowd, proving once again she’s a star in the making.
Another special moment was during Beyoncé’s emotional performance of “Protector,” where she shared the stage with both daughters, Blue Ivy and 7-year-old Rumi, who features on the song’s intro.
