The Mpumalanga provincial Department of Health has officially opened the Burns Unit at the Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela, in a bid to improve the care, and treatment of surgical and burns patients in the province.
The 12 bedded, Unit began operating in January 2024 on a pilot phase, with the aim of capacitating the team and building capacity.
The establishment is the first of its kind among the provinces state hospitals and aims to improve access to specialized care for Burns Patients.
